I’m a sucker for anything white and sculptural in terms of fashion at the minute. So when I stumbled across the work of London based fashion artist Ana Rajcevic I knew I had to share it!
The collection named ‘Animal: The other side of evolution’, in a style typical of the designer -encompasses both sculpture and fashion. The pieces form unique visual representations of animal forms, which when worn extend upon existing human structures. Themes of mutation and evolution are both explored in this way. The aim of the collection was to create objects that could be worn as adornments and to be used as standalone art pieces. Each item was bespoke hand made using moulds, gel coat, fiberglass, resin and silicone rubber.
I think the collection is absolutely beautiful, and I’m clearly not the only one. The collection won the MA Design Award at The University of Arts London 2012, and the Accessories Collection of the Year at ITS 2012.
